Open Lesson with Emily Granger

FNQ Harp Connection presents

Open Lesson

with Emily Granger

An opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s leading harpists in a supportive, relaxed setting.

Date: Thursday 23 May

Time: 5:00 - 7:00

Venue: Stratford Library Meeting Room

Cost: $60 / $40 members

Players of all ages and levels are invited to come and share their practice with visiting harpist Emily Granger and receive her guidance and feedback in an Open Lesson.

This is a great way to learn some tips, get inspired and it's a nice goal to practice for.  Not to mention, it’s an awesome opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s leading harpists!

What’s an Open Lesson?  An open lesson is where Emily spends 15-20 minutes with each player and guides them in ways to practice and improve their piece. Others in the room will be listening and observing and learning too.  It can be a nice informal challenge to play for a new teacher. This is a great way to test and improve something you’re working on. You don’t have to have a polished piece, but you should be able to play at least part of it with confidence, and be open to learning more with Emily.

Do I have to play or can I just listen?  No you don’t.  Listeners and players alike are welcome. We’re all students!  Just be aware that it’s not a concert.  It’s a learning workshop with lots of stops and starts and talking about the music.

What format will the class take? Can I come late or leave early? The workshop will be divided into two parts with a break in the middle. Children are likely to prefer the first half of the workshop and adults the second half. If you have other commitments, you can opt to have your lesson in the early or later part as suits you. The payment is the same whether you attend half or all of the workshop.

How do I register to play?  Fill in the form below. Or send us an email at harpconnection.com. Phone 0475-507-451 if you’d like to have yarn about it.  Places are limited so best to get in quick.  However, we’re generally flexible, so if you finally get your nerves up at the last minute, give us a try! :)

How do I pay?  Yes you can pay by cash, card or bank transfer at the door.

Please pay by direct deposit to: FNQ Harp Connection Inc. BSB: 814282 Account: 50963890

Please include your name and the letters EGOL as a reference when making this deposit.
