Therapeutic Music Workshop with Kim Kirkman

Therapeutic Music Workshop with Kim Kirkman

Kim Kirkman specialises in harp therapy work using the harp and voice to bring about change in people’s lives.

This workshop can be attended online, and the recording will be available for one month.

Kim presents a hands-on workshop in therapeutic harp music. You’ll learn about some of the modes (scale patterns) used in healing. Kim will show you how you can creatively combine modes and rhythms to use them for music therapy. These tools and skills go beyond the boundaries of therapy, and are useful for any musician interested in modes, early music, Celtic music or improvisation.

Certificates of Attendance are available on request.

After originally training as a violist (B Mus), Kim moved to voice (Post Grad Dip) and became co-owner, musical director and member of The Ten Tenors. He taught strings, composition, conducting, music technology and voice at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, CQUniversity from 2004 to 2012.
During this time Kim took up the harp and it became his primary musical focus. Kim has trained under the International Harp Therapy Program as a harp therapist. He has given hundreds of therapeutic harp sessions and produced over ten CDs with his original works.
Kim lives on the Sunshine Coast hinterland and is currently the owner of Australia’s largest gallery dedicated to spiritual and energy art, in Maleny. He is in high demand as an adjudicator and vocal workshop leader, and is visiting Cairns as an adjudicator for the Eisteddfodd music competitions.
