Masterclass with Loni Fitzpatrick

Masterclass

with Loni Fitzpatrick

We are excited to announce that Mossman-based harpist Loni Fitzpatrick will be holding a masterclass in Cairns. We’re lucky to have Loni here in the Far North and look forward to a fun and inspiring workshop.

Masterclass

A masterclass is an open lesson with an experienced harpist, where students have an opportunity to perform their pieces and receive advice from a fresh perspective.  Masterclasses are valuable learning situations for students, teachers and observers alike. You do not have to perform to attend. Come and listen to some lovely new pieces, meet some players, and experience what a masterclass is like.

If you would like to play at the masterclass, please let us know by the 20th of May.

About Loni

Loni Fitzpatrick is one of Australia’s finest young harpists with a career of richness and diversity.  Since graduating with a Bachelor's degree from Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Loni has been guest principal and section harpist for a number of orchestras including Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Australian Youth Orchestra, and Australian and International Symphony Orchestra Institute.  She has performed nationally and internationally on several stages from the Sydney Opera House to Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Melbourne’s Hamer Hall to the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

Originally training to be a concert pianist, Loni changed tracks upon discovering the harp at university. She studied harp with Sebastien Lipman, former Berlin Philharmonic principal harpist, as well as mentors Alice Giles and Jill Atkinson.

In addition to her ensemble and orchestral work, Loni plays harp in jazz, contemporary/popular to modern ensembles, and performs for weddings and corporate events.   Loni also creates immersive sound healing music of harp and song accompanied by singing bowls and meditations.
