Metamorphosis - Hannah Burnett’s Premiere Concert

On a breezy Sunday afternoon in early July, harpist Hannah Burnett premiered her solo concert titled ‘Metamorphosis’, to a full house in Atherton.

The title of the concert was well chosen, as Hannah reflected on, what she described as, a life changing journey which began with first hearing a harp in Year 7 to becoming an accomplished and captivating harpist 5 years later.

To a background of gently swaying trees, Hannah guided us through a program of beautiful pieces from a variety of composers interspersed with her own quite remarkable compositions.

Her love of her instrument and passion for playing made for an inspirational concert. Hannah took the audience with her on her journey with her explanation of each piece, and the meaning that it held for her.  The venue (Halloran’s Hill) beautifully complemented her chosen program with its intimate atmosphere and sweeping vistas of the surrounding Tablelands.  It was a concert not to be missed and a debut well worth celebrating.
