Jim Harrold - Remembrance

one of the 24 string ‘Jim-harps’

In March of 2023, the FNQ harp community lost one of its biggest supporters. Jim had been unwell for some time, and had reluctantly ceased crafting his lap and floor harps. For many years, local harp players like myself appreciated being able to recommend a dedicated local instrument maker and repairer.

Jim was a very special person who has left a unique legacy of harps throughout the Far North Queensland region and beyond. Farewell Jim, we will miss you and always remember your generosity, kindness and time for a good yarn.
