Harp music for Christmas, made with love...
A soothing soundtrack amidst the hubbub of Christmas preparations.
Up here in the far northeast corner of Australia, our harp community released its first album in 2020. From seven-year-old Jessie Starmer to Gretchen Dickins in her eighties, beginner and professional harpists teamed up to experience what it is to make an album. Fifteen-year-old Hannah Burnett premieres her original solo epic ‘Revelation', and Eloise Little sent her beautiful piece 'Profoundly Peaceful' by Salzedo up from lockdown in Melbourne where she studied first-year harp at Monash University. Anita Hsu’s soothing contributions include a unique arrangement of St Basil Hymn.
Special thanks to Juli Auriane who engineered our album while studying at CQU, and also to Patty Preece at CQU for making the project accessible for us.
Proceeds from the album go towards supporting the FNQ Harp Connection to continue creating fun projects with harps in the community.
Thank you! and We Wish You a (very) Harpy Christmas!.
